The “Coffeehouse” Open Microphone Event Returns for Spring 2013

The buzz is out about the Spring 2013 Coffeehouse. It's an open-microphone poetry event featuring acoustic music and free Starbucks coffee which will be held on April 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Macon Cove Campus in the Academic Building Presentation Theatre, MAC-195. The Coffeehouse presents a platform for students and faculty to read poetry – original or selections by others.

Now in its eighth semester, Southwest’s Coffeehouse has flourished in popularity since its inception in 2006 through the English Department and Pierian Writing Society.

All students, faculty, and guests are invited to read short selections of poetry or prose at the microphone. Coffee, tea, and homemade desserts will be served.
