The Maxine A. Smith Center Holds Fun-filled Carnival
With over 175 students, faculty, and staff in attendance, the Campus Activity Board (CAB) recently presented the CAB Carnival at Southwest's newest location, the Maxine A. Smith Center, located at 8800 E. Shelby Drive near Forest Hill Irene. Students enjoyed the festivities between, as well as, before and after classes making this event successful.
There were seven different games including Big Foot Races, Monster Trike Races, Bungee Run, Pedestal Joust, Surfer Dude, Ultimate Frisbee and Electronic Basketball Shoot Out that had everyone in a constant uproar. The competition was fierce, however, employee Patrick Washington proved to be the overall winner of the games with an undefeated record of 20 wins and no losses. There were hot dogs, chips, nachos, popcorn, cookies, snow cones, drinks and water to keep the crowd energized. If that wasn't enough, having a DJ playing the tunes that everyone loved to dance to helped knock off the extra pounds and kept the crowd hyped with laughter and fun.
In the end, the faculty, students and staff hated to see the festivities conclude and asked when Southwest would bring back more fun to the Smith Center.
